Website GEO audit in Claude
Claude checks whether ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity can see your site, with evidence and a fix for every finding.
Version 1.0.0 · · MIT license
Run a GEO audit on https://example.com
- A1 robots.txt
- fail
- GPTBot has its own group, so Disallow from * doesn't apply to it
- A3 AI bot response
- not run
- Cloudflare challenges bots; needs access to its settings
- C1 HTML without JS
- pass
- H1 and 627 words in the raw HTML
- E1 JSON-LD
- fail
- Organization declared on three pages with different data
- E3 llms.txt
- fail
- 404
Fix A1 and E1 first: they are blockers. Make the changes in the code?

Ask Claude
- Run a GEO audit on https://example.com
- Why doesn't ChatGPT know about my site?
- Check robots.txt and structured data for AI search
The skill loads on its own when a task matches. Your own words work.
What the skill does
Four layers in order: access (robots.txt per AI crawler, blocks), content (page text in the HTML without JavaScript), entity (one schema.org organization, llms.txt) and answers (an answer in the first paragraph of key pages). A check it couldn't run is reported as not run, never as a pass.
Evidence for every finding
A status code, command output or a quote from the page.
RFC 9309 rules
The effective rule for each bot, plus groups that accidentally open closed sections.
Fixes in your code
With repo access, Claude fixes robots, sitemap, llms.txt and JSON-LD, then rechecks.
You'll need
- Claude Code or the Claude app
- curl and Python 3 (standard library)
- Network access to the site you audit
Good to know
curl can fake a crawler's user agent, not its IP: if the site sits behind a WAF or bot protection, the skill flags it. Nobody can guarantee AI citations; the audit removes blockers.
Read SKILL.md before installing, it's plain text. A skill runs with your files and network.
Common questions
SEO is about search rankings; GEO is about AI assistants reading your site and citing you. GEO adds AI crawler rules and first-paragraph answers on top of SEO.
Not for the report, the URL is enough. For fixes, open Claude in the project folder.
No. It only contacts the site you're auditing.
Yes, it's MIT-licensed: use, change and share it, keeping the copyright notice.
Free tools that pair with it
Want the result rather than the skill?
We'll run the audit and make the fixes ourselves: SEO, GEO, structured data, speed — on your site or a new Next.js one.
